How to Keep Years 3–5 Active

Required: Return every 6 months for a Care Plan Update

The Years 1–2 NAPA warranty is automatic — it activates the moment your repair is complete. But to unlock and maintain the Years 3–5 extended coverage, you must return to Certified Auto Service every 6 months for a Care Plan Update (our free multipoint inspection). This visit keeps your warranty active and your vehicle's health documented.

Keeping Your Warranty Valid

To maintain warranty validity, required maintenance must be performed at Certified Auto Service per manufacturer-recommended intervals. This ensures the repaired system is properly monitored and maintained — and it's how we can confidently stand behind the work for five full years.

Mileage is documented at time of service. Your repair order records the exact odometer reading, service date, and parts used — creating a clear warranty record you can reference at any time.

Warranty Exclusions

To keep our warranty fair and sustainable for all clients, the following are not covered:

Client-Supplied Parts

Warranty applies only to repairs using parts sourced by Certified Auto Service. Parts supplied by the client are not covered under this warranty.

Normal Wear Items

Consumable components subject to normal wear — including brake pads, wiper blades, filters, belts, and tires — are excluded after their normal service life.

Vehicle Modifications

Warranty is void on any system that has been modified after the repair in a way that affects the covered component or its performance.

Unrelated Systems

Coverage applies to the specific repair performed. Subsequent failures in unrelated systems or damage caused by other factors are not covered.

Neglected Maintenance

If required follow-up maintenance is not performed at Certified Auto Service per manufacturer intervals, warranty coverage on the affected system may be voided.

Yes. Our 5-Year / 50,000-Mile warranty covers both the parts used and the labor performed on every qualifying repair.
What happens if I'm traveling and need warranty service?
During Years 1–2, your repair is backed by NAPA's nationwide network. Any of the 14,000+ NAPA AutoCare Centers across the country can honor your warranty. Just show your repair order.
Do I have to come back to Certified Auto Service for maintenance?
Yes. To maintain warranty validity, required maintenance on the repaired system must be performed at Certified Auto Service per manufacturer-recommended intervals. This is how we ensure the repair remains in optimal condition.
What is the BG Lifetime Protection Plan?

Are customer-supplied parts covered?
No. Warranty coverage applies only to repairs using parts sourced by Certified Auto Service. We cannot guarantee the quality or compatibility of client-supplied parts, so they are excluded from warranty coverage.
How is my warranty mileage tracked?
Your vehicle's odometer reading is documented on your repair order at the time of service. Warranty coverage is calculated from that recorded mileage and service date — whichever limit (5 years or 50,000 miles) is reached first.
